The letter dated 1 April 1996, printed on Harvard Graduate School of Education letterhead said that I was to be congratulated as I had been accepted into the individualized masters program as a student for Fall 1996.

What incredible news! The postman shook my hand and congratulated me.

And I was thrilled! I whooped and ran and wished there were people I could run up and shout my good news to.

Yet, through it all, a voice in the back of my head kept saying "April 1st... April 1st..."
