November 1994, trip to home, New York City
Sitting in Central Park for two hours on an Indian Summer day right across from Tavern
on the Green. A woman enters the park walking a bulldog. Ten minutes later she walks out
carrying the dog. She smiles at me as I laugh. Another woman walks into the park pushing
a baby in a stroller. The baby stares at me intently wondering what I am doing. I put down
my magazine and make a funny face at the baby. It smiles. I look up to see another woman,
in a silver lame jacket, rollerblade past.
